Our Traditional South African Koeksisters are just that — a time-honored recipe passed down through generations, now handcrafted right here at Howdy Bakes.

Each koeksister starts with a soft, braided dough, fried to golden perfection, then immediately soaked in a chilled syrup. That contrast creates the magic: Crispy on the outside. Soft, sticky, and syrupy on the inside. This isn’t just a dessert — it’s a cultural staple. A treat enjoyed for decades in South African homes, at gatherings, and around the table with family.

PLEASE READ - Shipping & Handling

• Orders containing Koeksisters will only ship Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 
• All Koeksister orders include a $8 Cold envelope fee to prolong cooler temps during shipping.
• Even if your koeksisters arrive warm, don’t worry — this is completely normal. Once cooled, they will return to their original texture and form.

Upon delivery, please freeze overnight for koeksisters regain original texture and taste.
